Zing Bars - Episode 36

Zing! Pow! Holy Cow! These Zing Bars are pretty cool. A bit pricey, but they pack a lot of healthy stuff into a tasty snack bar. We review 5 different flavor combinations: Blueberry, Cranberry Orange, Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Peanut Butter, and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip.

I would love to try these. They sound yummy and I need stuff to take with me for emergencies. I will have to check around.

To address the issue of cost, I would like to include an email we received from the company after the show was released:

"I just thought I’d take a moment and address the price issue, since that was the major “con” in your review. (Which I appreciate very much, indeed our bars are expensive.)

When we approached the task of creating the Zing Bars, we did so from the point of view of health care practitioners rather than marketers. So we pulled out all the stops and included ingredients such as organic blueberries, organic dark chocolate and certified gluten free oats, etc. These ingredients are really very expensive. Being a small company, we also contend with low volume production. Things get more expensive in smaller batches. However, I would like to suggest that the price of the bars is actually a bargain if you consider what you are getting: a low volume bar with premium ingredients, designed by dietitians who treat patients with Celiac Disease, blood sugar disregulation, etc.

We are working to source our ingredients more inexpensively. Of course, the trick is to not affect quality."

Regarding Olinda Paul's post:

Sorry I realize this may be a belated but you can order off their website at store.zingbars.com

Just in case you can't find them in a store near you! :D
